A Korean car maker, Ssangyong began in 1954 manufacturing Jeeps for US Army; eventually expanded its production to passenger vehicles. Ssangyong, a Korean word which means twin dragons, was later bought by Daewoo in 1997 and three years later sold to a Chinese company. Being a jeep maker at first, its products are generally SUVs built to take in passengers as well as bigger cargoes.
Ssangyong are best suited for individuals who want to own a SUV at an affordable price. They are great for city and off-road driving.
